An hour and a half later, I was just glad to get out of the hot and stinky gymnasium and take a deep breath of fresh air. It was the LONGEST 1st grade program in history, surely made longer by a hot and grouchy Hayden wiggling on my lap throughout. I thought I did a good enough job of praising Kaiya and telling her how amazing she was, but in reality after every song I kept thining, "This SURELY has to be the last one!" I was always wrong.
At least she's super cute. I love you, Kaiya. :)
A few nights ago, Kaiya came downstairs to show me that she'd lost a tooth. She was pretty excited. An hour later, she came downstairs again having lost ANOTHER tooth! Who loses two teeth in one night?
When I told her to put the teeth under her pillow and go back to bed, she said, "Can I just put them under tomorrow night instead?" Because it was late and I didn't care to have a long conversation about it, I just said, "Sure, whatever."
So the next day, Kaiya spent a good chunk of the day working on one of her "projects". She used real material, markers, etc, and made a tiny little dress for the tooth fairy. That's the reason she'd wanted to wait a day to put her teeth under the pillow - she wanted to make a present for the tooth fairy first. How cute is that?
The tooth fairy even paid her an extra 50 cents for a job well done. If my daughter keeps losing teeth at this rate, I may be asking her for a loan in the near future.
