Too lazy to post...

Funny things keep happening, stuff is going on, and I've just been too tired/lazy to post anything. I'll try to cover the highlights quickly...

Saturday morning Dennis got up to stain the playset. As usual he was convinced that he could "knock it out in a couple of hours", and it took hours longer than he thought. At noon he decided to take a break because he was dropping me off at his sisters bridal shower at 1:00. We took Claire to my mom's house and Dennis took Kaiya and Emmie to the BYU Blue and White game. When I asked the girls what their favorite part of the game was, they both screamed, "Cotton Candy!" while smacking each other in the head with the BYU blow-up things daddy bought for them. Now that he knows there's no hope of a boy he's determined that his girls are going to love football (even if that means blatant bribery every now and then).

I had a very lucky mommy-moment Sunday morning. I got the girls all dressed and ready for church, and although I put Kaiya and Emmie in their new dresses from grandma, for some reason I felt very hesitant to put Claire in hers. I ended up putting her in one of Emmie's hand-me-down dresses and figured Claire could just wear her new dress another week. Once the girls were all ready and their hair was done, I proceeded to my room and resumed the struggle to find a maternity shirt that my humongous belly would stuff into. Suddenly I hear Dennis yell from downstairs, "Tarin, you better get down here. You are going to freak out." Never good. I ran down the stairs, and it seems Claire is now tall enough to reach into our drawer that has Kaiya's little scissors and art stuff. She'd gotten ahold of the scissors and cut a huge hole right in the front of her little dress. Dennis was like, "You've got to be kidding me! Is this her brand-new dress?" Because somehow I'd had a premonition that SOMETHING was going to happen I was able to be calm about it and just felt glad that she hadn't cut herself and had only ruined the dress. I took her upstairs and changed her into her new dress, which had a matching dress for a baby doll. Claire LOVED that. She was carrying her matching baby all over church and giving it little kisses and patting it on the back. So cute. Anyway, everything worked out and we've learned to put the scissors up higher now!

Monday night I went out to dinner and then shopping with my mom and little sister. It was a fun little break. I found a couple of shirts and some pants that I'm hoping will actually fit once I have this baby so I'll have something to wear! It's always fun being as big as a rhino and shopping with a tiny little girl that wears a size "0". Anyway, we had a good time. I feel like I never get to see my family without also having to keep track of my little girls and be a "mommy", so it was very nice to just relax.

Monday was a beautiful, warm day...and yesterday was like a scene out of "The Wizard of Oz". The wind was so bad in the afternoon I saw an overturned trampoline, someone's lawn chair ended up in our yard (after hitting our front window and nearly scaring me to death) and some other piece of flying debris took out one of our solar lights and snapped it right in half. Even Dennis' huge grill slid a ways before toppling over into the grass. People's garbage cans, lawn furniture, etc. are EVERYWHERE. It was so hard to go from perfect weather to rain, snow and crazy wind! What is up with this weather? We played so much outside on Monday that poor Claire couldn't understand what was going on and was standing by the backdoor holding her sandals and begging to go "out" for a good part of the afternoon yesterday. I finally opened the door so she'd quit whining, she took a couple of steps out, then jumped back in the house and said, "Brrrr!"

Today I had a midwife appointment...same ol', same ol', boring. I can't believe I have to go every week now. That's going to come around really quickly! Why do I feel like I'll be pregnant forever, and yet in my saner moments I know the next month will fly by? The weeks have been going so quickly! It's crazy to me that we'll have a little baby soon.

My mom watched the girls this morning and then we went to lunch afterwards at Sweet Tomato (mmmm!). Now I'm stuffed and wishing for a nap. Unfortunately the kids slept all the way there and seem to feel like that was good enough for the day.

That's the update on our boring lives as of late.

All the Virginia family is here next week, so lots of fun stories and pictures to come, I'm sure. We can't wait to see them! The girls are beyond excited.

The weather was crazy! I hope your visit with family goes well. Good listening not putting sweet Claire in her dress first.

Isn't it actually kind of nice when enough things are happening around and you don't have time to blog? It'a a nice break from the mundane.

The part about the window coming out...seriously a huge fear of mine, what's up with this crazy wind in Lehi?!

I can't believe she cut a hole in her dress. What a cutie standing by the door with her shoes.

Have fun with your family. It will make the time go faster and you'll have that baby in no time.

Her dress is soooo cute, I love polka dots! Good thing she didn't cut up that one. We have had a couple mishaps like that with Ben.
