I think there was a slight mistake made, because Claire was obviously meant to be an only child. She is so unlike any of my other children, it's crazy to me. She likes to play alone, read to herself, and she's a very emotional, quiet, tender little person. On the mornings when Kaiya and Emmie both have school, Claire will run to her room and say to me, "Don't let Hayden in!" She will play happily for hours as long as she can be by herself.
Of all my girls, Claire is the one who still needs lots of loves and cuddles. They have all tried to be helpful and sweet these past few months when I've been laid up after surgery, but Claire was the one when I was feeling my worst that would come lay in bed with me for hours. She'd hold perfectly still and stroke my arm or back. She seems to have a very special quality for loving and nurturing - and she's constantly telling me that she can't wait to me a mommy and take her babies to the park. She talks about it all the time. I have no doubt that she will be an EXCELLENT mother someday.
Claire is such an integral part of our family. She is a sweet little peacemaker and brings such a special light into our home. I treasure these last three years that we've had her here.
We'll be having a Chuck E Cheese day on Saturday and a small party with family and close friends on Sunday - so pictures to come this weekend!
