First day of school and trip to the zoo...

Kaiya started 1st grade, and Emmie started her second year of preschool this past week. I can't believe that Kaiya is getting so big and is gone all day now! She had a rough year of kindergarten, but so far she's thrilled with 1st grade. She loves her teacher, loves her class, and loves eating lunch with her "boyfriend" from last year. I'm so happy to see her doing so much better this year!

Emmie has a new teacher this year as well. When she came home from her first day and I asked her how her day was she said, "My teacher said "toodaloo" when I left today. Does that mean goodbye in Spanish?" Any time Emmie doesn't know a word, she thinks it's spanish. I don't know why. Her new word is now "toodaloo" and she says it at least twenty times a day.









I was crazy enough to let a friend (you know who you are) talk to me into taking the younger three kids to the zoo the first day Kaiya went to school. It was hot - and exhausting - and hot. The only good thing I can say about it is I bought a LOT of cotton candy.
