Weekend Update...

This weekend, we were invited to stay at our friends house in Layton. Their daughter that is just older than Emmie was having a birthday party - and there was going to be a "special surprise" there. The girls couldn't wait!

We really enjoy spending time with the Campbell's. They have three girls named Amaia, Hallie, and Maddie - and they are each just a bit older than my Kaiya, Emmie, and Claire. They were all very excited for the party, and for their sleepover that night.

We got there Saturday afternoon, and the girls got re-aquainted while the adults did last minute things to get ready for the princess party. The party started out with "ribbon dancing" as my girls have come to call it. They all loved it. I'm sure Hayden would have loved it as well, but at this point I was still trying to make her take a nap. What a joke. I'm so silly.

After the dancing, they played Pin the Princess on the Castle - or, for the lucky few boys that were there, "Pin the Star-Wars thingy on the Star Wars Poster" (can you tell that I'm not a mom with boys?).

Then we all headed outside to take a swing at the pinata. You know you've planned a perfect party when, after each kid had taken two hits, the very last child in line breaks the pinata. I was quite impressed.

After that, the kids came back inside to enjoy their candy and prizes and watch Hallie open presents while they waited for the super-special-secret surprise.

Taffy in one hand and a pinwheel in the other. What more could Hayden ask for?

While the kids played I was waiting upstairs, and sure enough, Cinderella came speeding into the driveway in her little red Honda. I was kind of disappointed she didn't pull up in a pumpkin carriage. Or at least have one painted on her car or something.

Cinderella came downstairs, and the girls went wild! They were completely enthralled. She read them a story and played a princess singing game with them, and had even brought a craft to do. Emmie and Hallie kept asking her if she'd just come from Disneyland.

Hayden wanted to attack Cinderella (as soon as she came in, Hayden was yelling "LELLA! LELLA!" and running toward her like an untrained puppy dog), so she had to be restrained most of the time. That turned into Daddy's job, and he loved every second of it. Remember that nap I tried to get her to take? That would have been a good thing.

Hayden felt much better once all the kids went outside for a cupcake. Food makes everything okay. She also found a little scooter with a track that she was in LOVE with. She probably went on that thing two hundred times.

Kaiya found a nice napping spot...

Kaiya and Amaia (say it ten times fast!)...

The next day was Sunday, and Marietta grabbed the girls for a quick photo shoot once they were all in their church clothes. How sweet is that? Ah, to have an in-house photography studio...

Thanks SO much to the Campbell's for letting us spend the weekend with them. The girls had a wonderful time, we really enjoyed your company, and I gained two pounds. So...thanks. We're excited to see you again next month :)

And, for my favoritest favorite picture of all time...

Du Du Du DUH!

Ok I cried a little bit from laughing so hard! I love the robot picture and the part about Hayden acting like an untrained puppy. hahaha! But wow, what a party! That's such a great idea!
