Whirlwind of a week...

It's been one of those weeks where I feel like I'm running, running, running and never really getting anywhere. We've had a lot going on, but had a lot of fun in the process!

It was UEA break on the 16th, 17th, and 20th, which made for a long week of family togetherness. Even though I only have one in Kindergarten and one in preschool, it seemed a lot harder to have them ALL home ALL day. I start to feel like I should have gotten a degree in activity planning and coordinating. Or maybe I just should have gone to clown school.

Dennis worked from home one of the UEA days, and found time in his busy schedule to take a lunch break and play "Rock Band" with Claire. My mild-mannered kid can certainly bang on a drum!...

As soon as UEA was over Dennis' mom arrived for a visit, and we all had a lot of fun spending time with her! The girls love their "Virginia Grandma". We were so glad she was able to come play with us and meet Hayden for the first time!

Dennis' poor mom arrived on a Tuesday, which means I barely saw her. On Tuesday I taught six piano lessons, volunteered at the Kindergarten, and Dennis and his mom made cookies and frosting that I could take for the "Activity Day" girls Halloween activity that night. It was sure nice to have her here helping with the kids and making yummy frosting for my cookies and running to the store, but I felt bad that I was...having a typical Tuesday!

Claire loves to sit on the counter and watch the mixer while I make just about anything. I think she's just waiting for her prize at the end...

Grandma also introduced Kaiya and Emmie to Caramel Apples, which they LOVED. I ate one for breakfast the next morning. Hey, it's an apple, right?...

She also got them all Halloween gift bags with special shirts...

Most importantly, Dennis and Grandma were brave enough to take Kaiya and Emmie to an entire BYU football game. It took cotton candy, gummy worms, nachos, hot dogs, drinks, popcorn, and more candy, but they made it through the entire game and did pretty well. Emmie is still walking around the house randomly yelling, "GO B-I-OOO" and growling like a cougar. I think the sugar still hasn't totally left her system.

While they were at the game, Claire, Hayden and I went to my parents house to visit and relax. After the game we met everyone in Provo and ate dinner at Aunt Mary Susan and Uncle Tim's house. We apologize to Tim for Emmie randomly tackling him at every chance she got. Once again, I blame the sugar. She's normally such a CALM little thing.

The girls said goodbye to Grandma last night. We hope she has a good flight home this afternoon! Thanks for the great visit!

Oh don't you just love mother-in-laws. They tend to keep the kids occupied better than anyone else!

I know that Susan was thrilled to be able to spend so much time with the girls (and the parents, of course).

Thanks for taking good care of her.

I know how you feel about having them all home all day. Over UEA I was wondering how I made it through the whole summer.

The face painting turned out so cute! How nice to have a little help! I feel overwhelmed with just my two! Oh and we apologize for adding to the sugar rush on saturday.
